Charity Video Production Cost Calculator
Most production companies will not give a charity a number until after a discovery call. We publish ours.
The calculator below is built on the same published rates we quoted Sarcoma UK from: eight questions about your campaign, your contributors and your locations, and a range you can take to a trustee or a funder in under a minute.

LONDON-BASED VIDEO PRODUCTION COMPANY
We just made this for Sarcoma UK
Imagine what we could do for you.
Sarcoma UK came to us with one job: tell someone who has just heard the word sarcoma that there is a free Support Line, and that the people who answer understand.
We produced a 60-second hero film and six social cutdowns, shot over two days in London with real service users and Support Line staff, and launched on YouTube and Meta ahead of Sarcoma Awareness Month.
Every contributor had a pre-shoot call before dates were fixed, the schedule was built around their lives, and a two-person crew kept the conversations private. You can read the full case study, see the crew who made it, and hear from Sarcoma UK's digital team below. Read More

A crewed charity film starts at £3,500 for a single shoot day with editing included, £8,000 to £20,000 for a campaign with several contributors and locations, and from £25,000 for a flagship or TV appeal. Those are the same published rates every client pays. The calculator at the top of this page turns your brief into a range in under a minute; the written quote is free and lands within 48 hours.
-
No. It is an estimate built on our published rates. A written quote is free, lands within 48 hours, and is what we work from.
If a cheaper tier is the right call for the brief, the quote will say so.
-
Yes, and we recommend it. Service users and frontline staff make stronger charity films than actors. Every contributor has a call with us before dates are fixed, the schedule is built around their lives, and we keep the crew to two people in the room so the conversation stays private. That preparation is priced as pre-production in the calculator, not as extra shoot days.
-
The charity holds the consent and we work to it. If a contributor talks about their health, UK GDPR treats that as special category data, so consent should be in writing, explicit, and name every channel the film will run on, paid media included, and for how long. Settle it with your data protection lead before the shoot. We can share the consent wording we have used on previous charity campaigns when you get in touch.

A single-day film takes four to six weeks from confirmed brief to final delivery. A campaign with real service users takes around three months, because contributors' availability sets the dates. Working back from an awareness month, finish the edit at least three weeks before launch. Tell us the date in the contact form and the quote comes back with a schedule that fits it.

At every tier: a hero film, three platform cutdowns, captions burnt in, two revision rounds, a colour grade, licensed music and project management. Extra cutdowns, a dedicated photographer, accessible versions with BSL and audio description, and motion graphics for helpline and donation details are each a line in the calculator, so you can see what each one adds before you ask for it.
-
Yes, and it should. A 60-second hero film carries the story on YouTube, your website and at events; cutdowns of 6 to 30 seconds carry it on Instagram, TikTok and Meta. Sarcoma UK's Support Line campaign came out of two and a half days of filming: one hero film, six cutdowns and a stills library. Set the cutdowns slider to the number of platforms you will post on this year and the calculator prices the whole set.
-
Yes. We cover any UK location as standard. Each location outside London is costed in the calculator for travel and one night for everyone travelling, and gets its own shoot day, so three contributors in three cities will never be squeezed into one. Local location fees and permits are scoped in the written quote.
-
Ask one person to collect every team's notes and send them as a single set. Two revision rounds are included at every tier, and they go furthest when clinical, safeguarding and comms feedback arrives together. We build the review dates into the schedule at quote stage, so the people who need to approve the film know when they will see it.
-
The campaign goal, the audience, the launch date, who will appear on camera, where you can film, the platforms, and your budget range. The quickest way is to run the calculator, press "Copy this brief", and paste it into the contact form. We reply with a written quote within 48 hours. If any of those details are missing, a short call fills the gaps.
